The wildfires in the US state of California are so bad that turns the sky over San Francisco to a strange orange colour. Satellite images indicated the smoke being carried to the East Coast by the jet stream. In some parts of Oregon, the air quality has become hazardous. Not only that, the toxic smoke has also drifted north to Canada, where an air-quality warning has been issued in Vancouver for eight days in a row. It is really scary, isn’t it?

In the Book of Acts, the Apostle Peter proclaims that before the day of the Lord comes, there will be signs in the heavens and earth. Blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke will appear in the world. Also, the sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood. Do you think these signs resemble the phenomenon of the California wildfire?

Let’s ponder Acts 2:19–20.

Ponder

19And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke; 20the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day. (Acts 2:19–20 ESV)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear God, could You help me to prepare for the Second Coming of Your Son?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that you will get ready for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
