We all love to be successful, but we don’t like the pains that go with it. Most successful people would have gone through numerous obstacles, struggles and even failures. Wilbur and Orville Wright’s first airplane flight lasted only 12 seconds, and the rest is history.
The short earthly existence of Jesus Christ is really humble, but Father God has already elevated Him to the place of highest honour and gave Him the name above all other names. Within a few verses, Paul depicts the earthly scene and the heavenly scene of Jesus Christ.
Let’s ponder the words of Paul.
Ponder
9Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9–11 NLT)
Pose
Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear Jesus, could You teach me how to honour You as the Lord of my life?”
