What is Love? (i365 Day 359) 2.0

What is love? How do you define love? Love is not just a feeling, and it is more than an emotional high. How can we understand love? Love can be expressed in the form of giving. If someone loves somebody, one would try very hard to give something good to that person.

Love is a form of giving. Here are a couple of examples. Patriots are individuals who love their countries and they would give whatever they could to their homeland. For the sake of love, parents would give their best to their families.

Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. In fact, the core of this festive season is all about God’s sacrificial giving of His one and only Son (John 3:16). By demonstrating God’s love, Jesus Christ gave up His life for the welfare of all human beings. As He is the one and only Redeemer, He gives abundant life to all those who profess faith in Him. Because of what God and the Saviour have done for us, believers should learn to be a better giver. Let’s ponder 1 John 3:16.

Ponder

16We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. (1 John 3:16 NLT)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear Jesus Christ, can You teach me how to be a better giver?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that you can become a better giver.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share with a seeker of Christ the essence of Christmas.
