Knowing someone loves you is great. Being loved is an awesome feeling and a privilege. Consequently, you want to love that person back. In his writing, he spoke of the amazing love that he experienced. According to the observation of others, they knew he was in love. That person is John the Apostle (John 13:23, 20:7, 17).
John and some other believers are the first eyewitnesses of Jesus’ resurrection; after Jesus the Messiah was taken into heaven, they courageously present the Gospel to everyone. According to several early church leaders, John ended up in the small island of Patmos as a prisoner. It was likely that he had to endure hard labour. As you would have understood, life as a prisoner is never easy. Although amid loneliness and hardship, his loving Lord and Saviour hasn’t abandoned him; Jesus continues to reveal His future plans to His beloved one. This is the backdrop of the Book of Revelation. At the end of this book, John expressed his wish of meeting his loving Lord and Redeemer face to face again. Let’s ponder this Bible verse.
