Source of Life (i365 Day 338) 2.0

What is the point of knowing your family history? Some may have asked the above question because they think what is past is past and life has to move on. According to my humble understanding, the knowledge of your family history would give you a better sense of identity.

There are two genealogical records in the Gospel of Matthew and Luke. Interestingly, from the outset, Matthew states that this is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah (Mathew 1:1), and at the end of Luke’s genealogy, he links Jesus with Adam and God (Luke 3:38). In simple terms, from these genealogical records, we can get to know that Jesus is the universal Saviour of humankind, and God is the source of life. Let’s ponder Matthew 1:1 and Luke 3:38.

Ponder

1This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham: (Matthew 1:1 NIV)

38the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God. (Luke 3:38 NIV)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear God, can You help me to have a deeper understanding on the genealogy of Jesus Christ?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that you can a deeper understanding on the genealogy of Jesus Christ.

Proclaim
