The Class of 83 was going to have a reunion. As they were very fond of their Physics professor, they extended the invitation to him and his wife. Much to their delight, their honourable guests promised to show up on this special occasion. The dinner party was going to start soon, but this couple had not shown up yet. One of his students picked up her smart phone and texted him: “Prof, when will you arrive?” His humorous response was “Sooner or later.”
The Lord Jesus Christ was resurrected to life and ascended to heaven more than two thousand years ago. As He was ascending to heaven, two angels told His followers that He would come in the same way that they had seen Him going into heaven. As some Christians have lost their patience in waiting for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, please bear in mind that He will show up sooner or later! Let’s ponder Acts 1:8–11.
Ponder
8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” 9After He had said this, He was taken up as they were watching, and a cloud took Him out of their sight. 10While He was going, they were gazing into heaven, and suddenly two men in white clothes stood by them. 11They said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up into heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come in the same way that you have seen Him going into heaven.” (Acts 1:8–11 HCSB)
