Leading others to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is his passion. In one of the many dialogues with non-believing friends and relatives, the topic of heaven has popped up in one of these occasions. The non-believer confronted him, “You talk about heaven, but how do you know it exists, have you been there before?” His answer is no, but Jesus Christ has, and He is there now!
1 Timothy 3:16 speaks of a few places Jesus Christ has been to. First, He was manifested in the flesh is a reference of His presence on the earth. Second, in the heavenly realm, the angels are there to worship Him. Third, He was taken up in glory refers to His ascension in Heaven. Jesus Christ came to this messed up world to rescue all human beings. Since He loved us so much, He chose to die on the cross for us. His earthly mission was accomplished when the crucified Christ rose from the dead and ascended to heaven to be with God the Father, where He is being worshipped and served by angels. Let’s ponder 1 Timothy 3:16.
Ponder
16And most certainly, the mystery of godliness is great: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory. (1 Timothy 3:16 HCSB)
Pose
Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear Jesus, although You are in heaven now, can I feel Your presence in my life now?”
Practice
Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that you can feel the presence of Jesus Christ in your life.
Proclaim
Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share with a non-believing relative the presence of Jesus Christ in your life.
