Evil World (i365 Day 344) 2.0

A seasoned man told his friend that his childhood was the happiest stage of his life, because as a child, he hadn’t experienced much of the evilness in this world. As he was growing older, he found out the world was not as simple as it seemed to be. After experiencing many nasty incidents at his workplace, he finally witnessed firsthand the darkest side of humanity. Because of these experiences, except his best friends, he could hardly trust anyone.

During His short thirty-three years on earth, Jesus Christ often prayed to the Heavenly Father. In one of His prayers, on one hand, He acknowledged that the world was evil because it was under the control of Satan, but on the other hand, the Saviour asked God to protect His followers. The truth of the matter is Jesus cares for His disciples very much and they are under the protection of the Heavenly Father. Let’s ponder part of the prayer of Jesus.

Ponder

14I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. (John 17:14–15 NIV)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear Jesus, can You always protect me from Satan’s harm?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray for divine protection.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share with your family your prayer for divine protection, and ask them to pray likewise.
