Back in the days without smartphones, we needed to bring many extra gadgets for camping, and one of them is a torch. With the aid of a flashlight, campers can safely walk in the dark. Not only that, it can be a lifesaving gadget in times of danger!
Are you aware that the whole world is engulfed in spiritual darkness now? Before becoming a Christian, Paul lived in spiritual darkness. On the day of his conversion to Jesus Christ, the Saviour became the Light of his life. Since then, the Apostle often grabbed the golden opportunities of presenting Jesus Christ to others, as the Light of the world.
Let’s ponder the words of Acts.
Ponder
22But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen— 23that the Messiah would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would bring the message of light to his own people and to the Gentiles.” (Acts 26:22–23 NIV)
Pose
Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear Jesus, can You help my non-believing family members to see You as the Light of the world?”
Practice
Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray for your non-believing family members to see Jesus as the Light of the world.
Proclaim
Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share with a Christian your prayer for your non-believing family members, and ask him or her to pray for them as well.
