Mrs Hospitality (i365 Day 325) 2.0

Martin Luther is one of most prominent figures of the Reformation. Among the many things he is famous for, his rediscovery of justification by faith alone in the Bible is pivotal, as it has changed the course of history. However, few people know that he was a very hospitable person, and Mrs Luther was the person behind all these hospitable acts. Their home was always filled with boys, girls, students, widows and old women. His wife, Kate, had to do most of the supervision. For the cause of hospitality, she had to plant the fields, cared for an orchard, harvested a fish pond, looked after the barnyard, and even slaughtered the livestock. She was indeed Mrs Hospitality! The Book of Hebrews talks about hospitality as well. Let’s ponder this verse.

Ponder

2Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. (Hebrews 13:2 ESV)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear God, can You teach me how to practice hospitality?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray for the opportunity of expressing hospitality.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share your act of hospitality with a fellow Christian.
