When I was a teenager, I was always hungry. After a heavy dinner for only a couple of hours, I was astonished that I got hungry again. Not only that, whenever I was hungry, I ate a lot as well. Looking back now, there wasn’t anything wrong with me. As a growing teen, being hungry all the time is normal. By the way, how do you know you are a healthy Christian? How do you know your church is growing healthily? One of the healthy signs is hunger for God and His Word. Let’s ponder the words of Jesus Christ.
20And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. 21“Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. “Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh. (Luke 6:20–21 ESV)
Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear God, can You give me the appetite for You and Your Word?”
Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray for the appetite for God and His Word.
Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share your prayer for the appetite for God and His Word with a believer.
