Why Should I be Thankful? (i365 Day 286) 2.0

If you are brave enough to ask people two to three things that they are thankful for this year, some folks might look at you with contempt and say, “With all the nasty things that COVID-19 brings, why should I be thankful?

As Canadians, we celebrate Thanksgiving on the second Monday in October. Most probably, we wouldn’t be able to celebrate Thanksgiving like before, but there’s always something to be thankful for. In the midst of this pandemic, God has not forsaken us. Most importantly, He has good intentions for all of humanity.

Let’s ponder the words of Psalm 69:30.

Ponder

30I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. (Psalm 69:30 NIV)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear Jesus Christ, could You teach me how to be thankful?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that you can be a more thankful person.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share a few things that you are thankful for with your family members over dinner.
