Numbness! (i365 Day 296) 2.0

Although nobody likes pain, it is a protective mechanism that we all need! When we feel pain, we will withdraw from the damaging situation. As one feels pain, one might seek help! Once we get hurt, we would try very hard to avoid similar experiences in the future. On the contrary, numbness isn’t that good!

Spiritual numbness or moral numbness is really harmful. When a person is insensitive to spiritual or moral issues, he or she is in a grave situation. The Apostle Paul warns believers of the pains and dangers that they would encounter in the last days. Don’t be numbed by the moral laxity of this age, but we must respond with some positive actions instead!

Let’s ponder the words of Paul.

Ponder

1But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. (2 Timothy 3:1–5 ESV)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear God, could You help me to be aware of the dangers of the last days?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that you will have the awareness to combat the dangers of the last days.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share your spiritual journey with a believer.
