Finally! (i365 Day 294) 2.0

After sowing the grass seeds again, I prayed that it would grow this time. I watered it daily; sometimes on a hot dry day, I even watered it two to three times. Finally, I saw signs of grass growth. As I don’t have green fingers, this is an exuberant experience!

The “firstfruits” are the first and best part of the harvest of crops. The Apostle Paul indicates that Christians are the people who have the firstfruits of the Holy Spirit, that is to say, they have the indwelling of God’s Spirit. He uses a figure of speech to describe an important truth. Because of the presence of God’s Spirit in their lives, believers have already foretasted the glory that awaits them in heaven. The most beautiful thing is that the corrupted and mortal bodies of Christians will become incorruptible and immortal one day. Finally, we can conquer sin and death!

Let’s ponder the words of Paul.

Ponder

22For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? (Romans 8:22–24 ESV)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear God, could You help me to wait eagerly for the redemption of my body?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that you can wait eagerly for the redemption of your body.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share your eagerness of waiting for the redemption of your body with a non-believer.
