I don’t believe there is a single soul in this planet who hasn’t lied to others before. Being honest to others isn’t that easy! Oftentimes, we aren’t truthful to our parents, spouses, children and best friends. On some occasions, we aren’t even honest to ourselves!
As a Christian, I have asked non-believing friends the following question many times: “Have you ever sinned against God and others?” Some boldly replied: “No.” If they were honest to themselves, I think they would respond differently.
Let’s ponder 1 John 1:8–9.
Ponder
8If we say we do not bear the guilt of sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, forgiving us our sins and cleansing us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:8–9 NET)
Pose
Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear God, could You forgive my sins?”
Practice
Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that you can live a honest life before God and others.
Proclaim
Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share your experience of being forgiven by God with a non-Christian.
