It seems to me that many people want more – more years to live, more money, more blessings etc. A longer life doesn’t mean a better life, and more money doesn’t guarantee a happy and satisfying earthly existence. According to my philosophy of life, it’s the quality of life that counts, not the quantity.
The disciples of Jesus went to their teacher asking for a bigger faith. According to Jesus’ response, what they needed was not more faith but the right kind of faith. He gave an illustration to explain it. A faith as small as a mustard seed could do amazingly miraculous things, such as uprooting a mulberry tree, a tree with deep roots. Concerning the faith in Jesus Christ, it’s the quality that counts, not the quantity.
Let’s ponder the words of Jesus Christ.
Ponder
5The Apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” 6He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you. (Luke 17:5–6 NIV)
