On Eagles’ Wings (i365 Day 231) 2.0

During our family trip, we stayed with my in-laws. Every morning I looked forward to watch several majestic eagles flying sky-high – a scene that was so inspiring. These images enriched my understanding of some Bible passages.

The Bible often uses eagles as illustrations of biblical truths. God delivered the Israelites as if He carried them on eagles’ wings. God didn’t force His people to follow Him. Instead, He gave them freedom to choose what’s best for them. Let’s ponder the words of Moses.

Ponder

3Then Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain and said, “This is what you are to say to the descendants of Jacob and what you are to tell the people of Israel: 4‘You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. 5Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, 6you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.” (Exodus 19:3–6 NIV)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear Jesus, could You teach me how to follow You with a willing heart?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray for a willing heart to follow Jesus Christ.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share your new insight with your family and pray over it.
