Unhealthy Ambition (i365 Day 218) 2.0

There are healthy and unhealthy ambition. One of the harmful ones is selfish ambition. The Talmud wisely says, “Ambition destroys its possessor.” Toxic ambition will eventually bring destruction to a person. Not only that, selfish ambition will cause disruption and even destruction to any community or even a country. Pastor C.H. Spurgeon wisely observes that “Ambition is an enemy to peace in the church.”

The Apostle Paul knew the damaging power of selfish ambition that could bring to believers, and that’s why he reminded believers about it.

Let’s ponder the reminder of Paul.

Ponder

3Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. (Philippians 2:3 ESV)
