Lunatics? (i365 Day 214) 2.0

A visitor went to visit a mental hospital. He was astonished to find out that there were only three guards watching over a hundred dangerous patients. He worried if these patients would overpower the guards and escape, thus he inquired his guide about it. Here’s the response: “Lunatics never unite.” Unity is so hard to achieve at our neighbourhoods, workplaces and even churches. Are we behaving like lunatics?

The Apostle Paul reminds the Philippian church about the importance of church unity. As believers all belong to the same Christ, they must strive their best to be united.

Let’s ponder the teaching of Paul.

Ponder

1Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. (Philippians 2:1–2 NIV)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Could You give me more understanding about church unity?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray for the unity of churches around the world.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share with a new believer the importance of church unity.
