Virtuous Person (i365 Day 203) 2.0

Many people misunderstand the Christian faith in many ways. Countless non-believers wrongly perceive the core of the Christian message as being good people. If you read the second epistle of Peter, it isn’t hard to find out the starting point of Christian faith is resting one’s faith in Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:1, 3–4). Striving to be virtuous is essential, but it must be coupled with faith in Jesus Christ. Although the foundation of “godly life” is the salvation effected by God (1:3–4), believers should live out their salvation by being virtuous (1:5–7).

Let’s ponder the words of Peter.

Ponder

5For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, 6and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. (2 Peter 1:5–7 ESV)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Could You help me to live out my faith?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that you can be a virtuous believer.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share your struggles and achievements in living out your faith with a new believer.
