Song of Deliverance (i365 Day 195) 2.0

Why do people sing? Experts offer all sorts of reasons and the benefits of singing. In the Bible, people sang for various reasons: first, after experiencing God’s deliverance and wonderous works (Exodus 15:1–18); second, offering gratitude and praise to God (Ephesians 5:19–20); third, communicating truths to one another (Colossians 3:16).

Exodus 15:1-18 is a song of deliverance. Let’s read the passage and ponder this song.

Ponder

1Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the Lord: “I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; he has hurled both horse and rider into the sea. 2The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him— my father’s God, and I will exalt him! (Exodus 15:1–2 NLT)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Could You teach me more about the truth on singing?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that you will enjoy singing worship songs.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share with a believer your singing experience.
