The Source of Joy (i365 Day 167) 2.0

Compared with other professions, most pastors don’t have a high salary. When God called me to serve Him as a pastor, I understood that I wouldn’t have a good pay in the future. Ever since I have become a pastor, I often remind myself that I shouldn’t serve God for monetary gain. After years of ministry, one of my sources of joy is to witness the spiritual growth of believers. On the other hand, I am delighted to witness their spiritual advancement accompanied by joy.

Paul’s pastoral passion is to see the progress of faith of believers. He sees the advancement of faith and joy of believers go hand in hand. The advancement of faith brings joy to believers. Let’s ponder Paul’s words.

Ponder

25And being confident of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith, 26that your rejoicing for me may be more abundant in Jesus Christ by my coming to you again. (Philippians 1:25–26 NKJV)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Can You help me in my spiritual growth?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Compared with last year, examine yourself if you have grown or decreased in joy.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share with a believer the joy that you experienced in Jesus Christ.
