The Heart of the Gospel (i365 Day 164) 2.0

As followers of Jesus Christ, it’s understood that we should spread the Gospel to the people around us, but we do it with all kinds of different reasons and motives. If a survey on the motives of evangelism is conducted among Christians, you might be very surprised at the result.

The Apostle Paul blatantly pointed out some people preached Christ with a wrong motive, they did it out of selfish ambition (Philippians 1:15–17). Regardless of what motivates people to preach the Saviour, the heart of the Gospel message is always Jesus Christ. Let’s ponder Philippians 1:18.

Ponder

18But that doesn’t matter. Whether their motives are false or genuine, the message about Christ is being preached either way, so I rejoice. And I will continue to rejoice. (Philippians 1:18 NLT)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Could You give me a pure heart of spreading Your Word?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray for a pure heart of spreading God’s Word.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Tell a new believer that a pure motive of spreading the Gospel message is crucial.
