Most football fans pay a lot of attention to the attacking players, but have really overlooked the defenders. Because of defending, many players have lost a tooth or two, some would have received multiple nasty cuts and bruises, and even a broken leg!
All defenders of the Truth come with a price tag. For the sake of defending God’s truths, some Christians have lost their health. Many have lost their freedom. Numerous believers have lost even their lives. As a defender of the Truth, Paul has lost all of the above three precious things.
Let’s ponder the testimony of Paul.

7It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. (Philippians 1:7 NIV)

Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear Lord, defending the Truth is so hard, could You give me the determination of doing so?”
