People suffer for all kinds of reasons; let me name a few examples. Some folks have already paid hefty prices for their mistakes but their suffering will linger on until their last breath on earth. Throughout human history, certain evil individuals have caused others to suffer. At the wrong place and wrong time, many people have fallen to be victims of suffering.
Losing one’s freedom is one of the horrible things I can think of that happens to anyone. Being imprisoned is a nasty experience; strangely, Paul chose to lose his freedom for the sake of being a follower of Jesus Christ. Consequently, he ended up in chains for his Lord and Saviour. Let’s ponder Paul’s testimony.

13As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. (Philippians 1:13 NIV)
