Devout Believer (i365 Day 145) 2.0

In introducing guest speakers, some hosts use overly complimentary verbiage to describe their respectable speakers to their church members. If people address you as a devout Christian, would you be flattered or ashamed?

Another term for devout is godly. A godly Christian played an important role in Paul’s life. Without his involvement in his life, Paul wouldn’t become the Christian missionary and pastor that Christians admire and respect. Let’s ponder the Bible verses about this devout believer in Christ.

Ponder

12Someone named Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good reputation with all the Jews residing there, 13came and stood by me and said, ‘Brother Saul, regain your sight.’ And in that very hour I looked up and saw him. (Acts 22:12–13 HCSB)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Can You show me how to be a godlier person?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Before starting work today, pray for godly attitude and motives.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share your testimony of trying to be godlier with a believer.
