Running Away! (i365 Day 129) 2.0

The world is full of temptations! If we are not careful, we might succumb to illicit seductions, dishonouring ourselves, families and our loved ones as a result.

One of the best methods to overcome temptations is to run away from it. A young and handsome man was constantly seduced by his boss’s wife. He overcame it by running away.

Let’s ponder the story of Joseph (Gen. 39:7–20).

Ponder

10She kept putting pressure on Joseph day after day, but he refused to sleep with her, and he kept out of her way as much as possible. 11One day, however, no one else was around when he went in to do his work. 12She came and grabbed him by his cloak, demanding, “Come on, sleep with me!” Joseph tore himself away, but he left his cloak in her hand as he ran from the house. (Genesis 39:10–12 NLT)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Can You give me the willpower to run away from temptations?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Before starting a new day, ask God to give you the willpower of overcoming temptations.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share your experience of overcoming a temptation with a believer.
