Authors write about it. Singers sing about it. It keeps husbands and wives together. It gives children the right direction to live and grow healthily. All humans are longing for it, but some are not feeling it. It is the affection of love.
One noteworthy fact is that love has priorities. The first priority is to love God, that is, the vertical side of love. The second is to love one another, which is horizontal love. Some people are puzzled and offended to hear that they have to love God first. Well, God is not just the Creator and Ruler of all things, but He is the Father of all human beings. Placing our love on Father God is the correct focus and the right priority. Concerning the priority of love, let’s ponder the teaching of Christ.
Ponder
30And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ (Mark 12:30 ESV)
