Holy Jealousy? (i365 Day 96) 2.0

Jealousy is usually seen as a negative emotion, but at times, it can be a healthy sentiment. For example, if a wife saw her husband being overly friendly to a young and attractive lady, it’s understandable that she would be fuming with jealousy and anger. The wife’s resentment to her husband served as a reminder and warning: he should always stay faithful to his better half, he must often keep the boundaries with the opposite sex, and his inappropriate kindness might have caused that woman to misunderstand the motive behind his kindness.

As there is no other God besides Yahweh, He would be very jealous if people chose to worship false deities. This is holy jealousy!

Let’s ponder Exodus 34:14.

Ponder

14For you must not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. (Exodus 34:14 NET)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “How can I be sure You are the God mentioned in the Bible?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Get to know the God mentioned in the Bible and stay true to Him all the time!

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. If you have the chance, share your experience with your neighbour of how you got to know the God mentioned in the Bible.
