Your Name (i365 Day 91) 2.0

Most people inherit their names at birth, but for some reasons some people don’t like their given names. As names represents our identities, some people choose to change their names. Some famous movie stars and singers use their stage names instead of their original names, and eventually their aliases have become well-known names around the world.

Abraham is a popular Bible character. Interestingly, Abraham wasn’t his original name. God gave him this new name. This name-change signals a new direction for his life. I guess we don’t need to change our names, but perhaps, we need to have a new direction in life. Let’s ponder the story of Abraham (Genesis 17).

Ponder

4“As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. 5No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations. (Genesis 17:4–5 NIV)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “What changes do I need in my life now?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that God would reveal the changes that you need.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Tell your experience to a Christian friend.
