As a pastor, I have officiated and attended numerous weddings. In these joyous occasions, I witnessed the beaming faces of proud parents, guests, and especially the bride and the groom. At hospital and home visitation, I sensed the exceeding thrill of a new mother. Special moments delight both old and young! What delights you most? Can you remember an incident that you’re overjoyed?
The psalmist speaks of an incident that he was overjoyed. Let’s ponder the words of the psalmist (Psalm 119:161-168).
Ponder
162I rejoice at your word like one who finds great spoil. (Psalm 119:162 ESV)
Pose
Let’s pose a question to God. “I don’t have much joy in reading the Bible. Lord, what should I do?”
Practice
Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that you would rejoice in reading the Bible.
Proclaim
Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share your joy of Bible study with a congregant who sits next to you at Sunday worship.
