Sunday Best means fine clothes reserved for Sunday service. In the old days, congregants regarded congregational worship very important, therefore they put on their best clothes for the occasion. Although most churchgoers dress down for Sunday service nowadays, this doesn’t mean they don’t respect or value congregational worship like their predecessors.
Public worship is crucial but personal worship is equally important as well. Jesus speaks of private worship in Matthew 6:6. In our personal sanctuary, we can engage in Bible study, meditation and prayer, as acts of worshipping God. Let’s ponder the teaching of Christ.
Ponder
6But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. (Matthew 6:6 ESV)
Pose
Let’s pose a question to God. “My house is always noisy. Where can I worship You?”
Practice
Let’s practice what you learnt. Find a place at home that you can focus on praying and reading the Bible.
Proclaim
Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share the precious moments of your personal worship with other Christians.
