Intercession (i365 Day 89) 2.0

“How are you doing lately?” Two people started to converse. At the end of the dialogue, here’s what the veteran pastor asked his church member, “Do you have any prayer request?” One of the pastoral duties is to care and pray for their congregants. It’s quite natural for pastors to do so. Strangely, not only a world-renowned pastor faithfully performed his pastoral duties, but he also often went around asking people to pray for him. The pastor was Paul, he was regarded as the greatest pastor and evangelist of all time. Intercession is a two-way street. Believers in Christ should mutually pray for one another. Let’s ponder the teaching of Paul.

Ponder

30I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me. (Romans 15:30 NIV)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Can You give me the courage to ask people to pray for me?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. After the small group meeting, request others to pray for you.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share with your pastor how your small group practiced intercession. I am sure your pastor will be delighted.
