What’s your favourite comfort food? Chicken soup, cookies, or hot bread? When we are stressful, comfort food would do wonder for us!
After the Second World War, numerous homeless children were placed in large camps. Although the children were well fed and taken good care of, they simply couldn’t sleep well. A psychologist came up with a brilliant idea. When the children went to bed, they all received a slice of bread. They were told not to eat it but to hold it while they were sleeping. As the children subconsciously felt that they had something to eat tomorrow, they were calmed and slept well because of this.
