Most commercials advocate pleasure-seeking and that’s how merchants make their money. Well, life isn’t just about pleasure. Pleasure-seeking shouldn’t be the only goal in our earthly existence. One noteworthy point is that not all pleasure is bad and it can be neutral.
Many people wrongly pursue a pain-free lifestyle. Numerous folks only live for pleasure. One of the greatest obstacles of becoming a follower of Christ is pleasure. The devil craftily entices non-believers with pleasure, so that they would ignore their eternal destiny. Also, Satan tempts believers with pleasure, as it would mar their spiritual walk with Christ. Let’s ponder God’s Word.
14 The seeds that fell among the thorns represent those who hear the message, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life. And so they never grow into maturity. (Lk 8:14 NLT)
Let’s pose a question to God. “Am I too pleasure-seeking?”
Let’s practice what you learnt. Be determined to take more pleasure in God.
Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share your experience with someone that you took pleasure in the Redeemer.
