My heart and prayers go out to the families who lost their loved ones in the catastrophic disaster in Indonesia. According to what I have heard, without any warning, the tsunami struck at night, demolishing hundreds of buildings, sweeping away cars and uprooting trees.
What are your plans in this holiday season? Partying, visiting friends, having a good time? That’s great! How about after that? Some people are dreaming of freedom 55 and have already made plans for it. Oops, the stock market is dwindling and the economists have already predicted an impending recession. We can make all the plans but we would not know of what lies ahead of us.
When I heard of the recent tsunami that struck Indonesia, the following Scripture came to my mind:
3While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. (1 Thessalonians 5:3–4,ESV)Like you, I make plans too! Naturally and occasionally, I worry about the future, but when I come to my senses, I know I have to put my faith in Christ, for He is my hope and salvation!
