In 1830, George Wilson was convicted of robbing the United States Mail and was sentenced to be hanged. President Andrew Jackson issued a pardon for Wilson, but surprisingly the convict refused to accept it. The matter went to Chief Justice Marshall, who concluded that George Wilson would have to be executed. His verdict was that a pardon was a slip of paper, and the value of which was determined by the acceptance of the person to be pardoned. Since George Wilson refused to accept it, he was hanged.
As God is merciful, He is willing to pardon all of our sins through His Son. Although the blood of Jesus Christ can cleanse our sins, we must accept God’s pardon. In short, we must acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour of our life. Let’s ponder the message about the blood of Jesus Christ.
Ponder
22In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. (Hebrews 9:22 NIV)
Pose
Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear Jesus, can You help me to share the powerful message of the blood of Jesus Christ with my friends and relatives?”
Practice
Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray for the determination to share the powerful message of the blood of Jesus Christ with your friends and relatives.
Proclaim
Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share with a Christian friend your wish of spreading the Gospel and ask him or her to pray for your endeavour.
