Some words have deep meanings. We often use some words but don’t pay too much attention to their origins and intent. Take the word goodbye for example. It is a word originated in the late 16th century, which is a contraction of God be with you. Back in the old days, when people part, they wish God be with them.
On Sunday, Christians gather together to worship and fellowship. Before they part, pastors give benediction at the end of Sunday service in most churches. It’s a meaningful gesture to indicate that God is the source of blessing. At the end of the second letter to the Corinthians, the Apostle blessed the believers. A noteworthy point is that it is a threefold blessing associated with the three persons of the Trinity. Let’s ponder 2 Corinthians 13:14.
Ponder
14The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. (2 Corinthians 13:14 ESV)
Pose
Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear God, can You bless me and my family?”
Practice
Let’s practice what you learnt. Ask God to bless you and your family.
Proclaim
Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share with a seeker of Christ how God has blessed you recently.
