Most metals are known for their high strength and durability, but even they suffer from fatigue. If metal fatigue occurs, fatigue fractures in steel bridge girders and railroad rails could cause disasters.
Some hardworking people seem to be strong and resilient, but they would suffer from fatigue from time to time. As a rule, all humans need rest and food for recuperation. In the times of Jesus Christ, poor civilians were being oppressed, and they were emotionally and physically weary. And because of that, several thousands of this kind of people followed Jesus. After preaching to them, Jesus knew His audience were tired and hungry. This was the backdrop of the miracle of feeding the five thousand people (Mark 6:34–44). With just five loaves and two fish, Jesus met the physical needs of these people. If you are weary, please turn to Jesus for comfort and strength. Let’s ponder this miracle of Jesus Christ.
41And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing and broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the people. And he divided the two fish among them all. 42And they all ate and were satisfied. (Mark 6:41–42 ESV)
Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear Jesus Christ, I am tired, physically and emotionally, can You give me strength?”
Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray for physical, emotional and spiritual strength.
Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share with a Christian friend about your experience in gaining physical and spiritual strength from Jesus Christ.
