Against the Tide (i365 Day 259) 2.0

During summer vacation, my father brought my siblings and I to the beach, two to three times a week. Swimming against the tide is never easy, as I have learnt it in my early childhood. Although swimming against the current was tough and even dangerous, it had trained my stamina and determination.

God asks Christians to pursue holiness. Pursuing holiness in a corrupt world is like swimming against the tide. It is difficult, but it is worthwhile to do so, because we would grow in spiritual maturity. The best of all is that our Father in heaven will be pleased with us.

Let’s ponder the reminder of Paul.

Ponder

1Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that could defile the body and the spirit, and thus accomplish holiness out of reverence for God. (2 Corinthians 7:1 NET)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear God, could You help me to pursue holiness?

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that you will have the determination of pursuing holiness.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share your pursuit of holiness with a new Christian.
