Anybody can claim to be a Christian, but how can we tell that his or her faith is genuine? The Bible offers many ways of distinguishing true and false believers, and one of them is by obedience to God’s commandments. If a person is truly a follower of Christ, he or she would obey God’s teachings wholeheartedly. Let’s ponder the words of John.

Ponder

⁴If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. (1 John 2:4 NLT)
