Don’t Hold a Grudge till Your Last Breath! (i365 Day 284) 2.0

After learning Prince Charles and Lady Diana would go to Gibraltar to board the royal yacht Britannia for a honeymoon cruise, King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia of Spain decided to boycott the royal wedding. The reason is simply because Gibraltar became a British colony in 1704. Can you imagine the grudge has lasted for two hundred and seventy-seven years? If a generation is 25 years, this grudge has lasted for almost 10 generations! My recommendation to all of you is that don’t hold a grudge till your last breath.

Shortly before his death, Stephen said his final prayer. In his prayer, he forgave the people who brutally stoned him to death. Amazingly, he left the world without leaving a grudge. Let’s ponder the last prayer of Stephen.

Ponder

59While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” 60Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep. (Acts 7:59–60 NIV)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Dear Jesus Christ, could You help me to forgive people who have wronged me?”

Practice

Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that you can forgive people who have wronged you.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. In the coming family prayer meeting, share your endeavour of forgiving people who have wronged you.
