When we see something that displeases us, we blame the people around us. Although finger-pointing is simply a human trait, this is a very negative response to the problem. It’s easy to blame our government and politicians, but we should do something positively. Instead of grumbling and criticising, the Bible teaches us to pray for rulers and people who are in high positions. Let’s ponder the teaching of Paul.
Ponder
1First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. (1 Timothy 2:1–2 ESV)
Pose
Let’s pose a question to God. “I really dislike that politician; how can I pray for her?”
Practice
Let’s practice what you learnt. At family prayer time, pray for your country and politicians.
Proclaim
Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Tell another family how your family prayed for our country and politicians.
