Here’s an insightful adage: “The family that prays together, stays together.” Although there are many reasons behind those families that are falling apart, I’m quite sure that many of these parents haven’t taken the leadership of praying for and with their children.
Family altar is not only crucial for the sustenance of a family, but its survival as well! Parents, please pray together with the children at meals and bedtime. Moreover, the habit of reading the Bible together will surely benefit all family members. There’s a devout family mentioned in Acts 10. Let’s ponder this chapter.
Ponder
2a devout man who feared God with all his household, gave alms generously to the people, and prayed continually to God. (Acts 10:2 ESV)
Pose
Let’s pose a question to God. “Can You help me in starting my family altar?”
Practice
Let’s practice what you learnt. Start to pray with your spouse and children before bedtime.
Proclaim
Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share with a believer your joy of having a family altar at home.
