Meditate on God’s Word (i365 Day 50) 2.0

In order to combat stress and anxiety, more and more people around the world practice Eastern meditation. The Bible speaks of meditation as well, but it is completely different to the Eastern way of mediation. Christian meditation seeks to focus and fill the mind with God’s truths. All in all, biblical meditation is all about pondering God’s revealed truths and reflecting on how they relate to us. Most importantly, the practice of pondering God’s truths is beneficial to our spiritual and emotional health.

Let’s ponder the words of the psalmist (Psalm 119:9-15).

Ponder

15I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. (Psalm 119:15 ESV)

Pose

Let’s pose a question to God. “Can You help me to practice meditating on Your Word?”

Practice

The meaning of “meditate” is literally “be concerned with” or “be occupied with”. The phrase of “fix my eyes on” means “pay attention to”. Let’s practice what you learnt. Pay attention to a verse of Scripture and live it out whenever you can.

Proclaim

Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share your recent meditation experience with a Christian.
