Fake News! (i365 Day 355)

I am saddened by the state of this world. Among the many horrifying things that are happening around the globe, the unending circulation of all kinds of conspiracy theories and fake news really bother me. As some people only adhere to one single source of information, this causes them to buy into some conspiracy theories and fake news. What upsets me most is that some prominent people are also the authors of disinformation. They do it for one reason – their own selfish gain.
In the early church era, God came to the world as the Redeemer of humanity in the name of Jesus Christ, this was indeed great news. Sadly, not only some people blatantly reject the Good News, but some of them have turned themselves into false teachers, teaching others that Jesus did not take on a physical body but only appeared to have a bodily existence. In modern terms, that’s fake news! Let’s ponder the warning of John.
Ponder: 7For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist. (2 John 7 ESV)
Post: Let’s post a question to God. “Dear Jesus, can You teach me how to distinguish the truth from the lies?”
Practice: Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that you can distinguish the truth from the lies.
Proclaim: Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share with a non-Christian your understanding of the incarnation of Jesus Christ.
