Unforgiving World! (i365 Day 282)

We live in an unforgiving world. Is it an understatement or overstatement? According to my observation and experience, it’s a fact. Let me give you a few examples. For the things we have said and done that are harmful to others, we cannot forgive themselves. On the flip side, we cannot forgive others for the harm that they caused us. Like the Chinese word “Imprison”, we often keep a person in prison for the rest of our lives. Our hearts can be a place of imprisoning someone forever.
The Bible often speaks of forgiveness. Because God has already forgiven us through Christ’s death on the cross, God’s children should at least try to forgive others.
Let’s ponder the words of Paul.
Ponder: 12Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. (Colossians 3:12–13 NIV)
Post: Let’s post a question to God. “Dear Jesus Christ, could You help me to exercise forgiveness?”
Practice: Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that you can forgive the person who harmed you.
Proclaim: Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share your attempt of forgiving someone with a believer.
