Unhealthy Affection (i365 Day 233)

Who doesn’t like to be loved? Love is good, but loving the wrong thing, inappropriate object or incorrect person is the problem.
God doesn’t forbid people to have money, but the greed for it causes all kinds of harms (1 Timothy 6:10). Pastor John F. MacArthur says, “To love money is to have an unhealthy affection for it and be driven to pursue it.”
How do we know we are spiritually healthy? One simple thing is to check on your perspective on money. If money has become your master, then your spiritual health is in serious trouble! Let’s ponder the warning of Jesus.
Ponder: 24“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. (Matthew 6:24 NIV)
Post: Let’s post a question to God. “Dear Jesus, could You enlighten my heart if I have an unhealthy affection for money?”
Practice: Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray for your spiritual health.
Proclaim: Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share the recent evaluation of your spiritual health with your spouse or someone who is close to you.
