The Bible talks about faith all the time. So, what is saving faith? In layman’s language, there are three elements or steps involved. First, we must understand the basic biblical facts concerning salvation. Second, we must affirm these truths to be true. Third, we must act on these truths and wholeheartedly accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.
Hebrews 11:1 is a classic example of these three elements. Concerning saving faith in Jesus Christ, the three components involve our intellect, emotions and our will. After knowing all these truths, would you still consider yourself a follower of Jesus Christ?
Let’s ponder Hebrews 11:1.
Ponder: 1Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1 ESV)
Post: Let’s post a question to God. “Could I experience saving faith?”
Practice: Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that you can experience saving faith.
Proclaim: Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share your understanding of saving faith with a seeker.
