Song of Deliverance (i365 Day 195)

Why do people sing? Experts offer all sorts of reasons and the benefits of singing. In the Bible, people sang for various reasons: first, after experiencing God’s deliverance and wonderous works (Exodus 15:1–18); second, offering gratitude and praise to God (Ephesians 5:19–20); third, communicating truths to one another (Colossians 3:16).
Exodus 15:1-18 is a song of deliverance. Let’s read the passage and ponder this song.
Ponder: 1Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the Lord: “I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; he has hurled both horse and rider into the sea. 2The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him— my father’s God, and I will exalt him! (Exodus 15:1–2 NLT)
Post: Let’s post a question to God. “Could You teach me more about the truth on singing?”
Practice: Let’s practice what you learnt. Pray that you will enjoy singing worship songs.
Proclaim: Let’s proclaim to others about your experiential knowledge. Share with a believer your singing experience.
